Description
You will play a pivotal role in helping our company grow and expand, so that we can reach and convert more customers that fit our mission and vision, as well as to turn customers into partnerships. You will also help us drive our narrative and strategic positioning as we establish ourselves as the technology leader in the blockchain-powered global economy. This is a multi-faceted role, and we are looking for someone who will tell us, not ask us, what we need when it comes to business development and sales.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Keep up with the technical developments and trends in the blockchain ecosystem
- Know all the technically important and influential companies and people in the space, and what they are building
- Keep up with the technological trends and developments in the space, such as Data Availability, SNARKs, optimistic rollups, and decentralized sequencing
- Keep up with the blockchain market
- Learn the ins and outs of the current market trends in blockchain technology
- Read the blogs of influential companies and people in the field (Vitalik, Paradigm, etc.)
- Stay abreast with the important investors in the field (a16z, Paradigm, Bain Capital Crypto, etc.), where they are investing, and their theses
- Understand our team skills and strengths as well as our philosophies, culture, and vision
- Talk to our scientists and engineers to understand our capabilities and technical skills
- Keep up with the scientific work and reports produced by our team either in an academic or industry setting
- Understand who our current and potential clients are and what problems they are solving
- Understand what our clients are building and our ongoing collaboration with them
- Form an intuition about what type of content and initiatives could grow our community engagement and audience
- Help us maintain and scale our existing clients
- Maintain our CRM
- Be the point of contact for our clients and partners
- Talk to our clients to understand their needs
- Understand the technical work we have done for our clients in the past and the work we’re currently doing for them
- Understand how our work fits the broader vision and mission of each of our clients
- Coordinate with our clients and partners around marketing initiatives across multiple platforms (Telegram, Slack, X, Discord, email), including joint announcements of new projects and engagements
- Scale our existing clients by closing more and larger projects with them
- In case a relationship with a client dies out, understand why and how we can do better, and effect the changes within the team to ensure we learn and grow
- Grow our clients into partners
- Help us close new clients
- Find leads to potential clients who fit our mission and vision to whom we can add value
- Reach out to these clients
- Have the first meeting with the client to identify their needs
- Specify an MVP that satisfies the client’s needs and constitutes a small “nugget of work”
- Close the first “nugget of work” with the client together with our scientists and engineers
- Find the relevant internal project leader and help make up the first team to hand them the first client project
- Take ownership of our website and socials
- Participate in the community
- Travel to all the important annual conferences in the field
- Travel to meet and network with existing or prospective customers or influential people in the space
- Organize Common Prefix events
Requirements
The requirements for this position are:
- An excellent overview of blockchain technologies and their market, including Layer 1s, Layer 2s, rollups, light clients, bridges, and DeFi
- Holding a Bachelor's or more advanced degree
- Stellar interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, extroverted and happy to talk to people and socialize
